This group is dedicated to serve the refugee and migrant community in Dallas through various ministry partners and opportunities. Every month, nearly 1,000 men, women and children seeking asylum are bussed to Dallas from border detention centers. These migrants require basic support to make arrangements to reunite with their sponsor (usually their friend or family member) in the United States.Some ways we support our ministry partners:
Welcome Home Kits - gathering basic household items as they begin their new journey
Transportation - helping our new neighbors with transportation to government appointments, doctor visits and job interviews
Friendship & Community - providing friendship and relationship, sharing a meal together, providing advice on every day tasks such as grocery shopping, opening a bank account and applying for a job
Welcome Center Volunteers - serve a meal and guide migrants with getting new clothes from a donation closet
Travel Arrangements - assist migrants with purchasing flights, train and bus tickets (paid by sponsors)
Travel Escorts - assist non-English speakers with transportation and getting through airport security
Donations - donate food, clothing, backpacks, hygiene kits or cover the cost of a hotel stay
Whether you are an individual with a few hours to volunteer for one day or a small group looking to adopt a family for a longer period of time, there are several ways we can support refugees and migrants.
